This Mug was hand formed using the Potter's wheel made with a white stone-ware clay body. A handle was added then painted with a slip. Once the slip has dried a bit, I used the Sgraffito technique to create the design and texture on the surface of the mug. I use various loop tools to carve through the slip. Once the mug is dry, the mug is first bisque fired and then it is glazed in a matte transparent glaze and fired again to a 2170 degrees.
